Betty Jean Osmon, age 87, of Washington, passed away at 1:15 AM on Thursday at Eastsgate Manor Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born on February 28, 1926 in Washington to Elmer and Winnie (Whitehead) Heilig. She was a graduate of Washington High School and was a member of the Frist Baptist Church. She had worked as a secretary for the mayor's office, the treasurer's office, and was a bookkeeper for O and A Construction. She was a devoted homemaker, looking after her family's needs were her number one priority. She is survived by one son, Robert L. Osmon of Washington; one daughter and son in-law, Patty and Ron Arnold of Washington; five grandchildren, Scott Osmon of Brownsburg, Brad Osmon of Broad Ripple, Jennifer (Tony) Johnson of Washington, Lori Arnold of Chicago, and Bridget Arnold of Zionsville; and four great grandchildren, Addison Osmon, Madalynn Johnson, Jacob Johnson, and Evelynn Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Osmon on October 5, 2009, whom she had married on April 7, 1945.
