Ganelle Frances Fox age 96 of Washington passed away on Sunday at 7:05 AM at Washington Nursing Center. She was born on January 15, 1911 in Daviess County to Alfonso L. and Lillian E. (Ramsey) Smith. She attended Doyle School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic School and the Daughters of Isabella. She married Floyd Fox on December 5 1930 and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1979. She retired from US Rubber after 31 years of factory work. After retiring she worked as a cook for the K of C for three years.. After the death of her mother in January of 1930, she and her husband Floyd raised her five younger brothers and cared for her father. Surviving are one daughter and son in-law, Marilyn and Charles Pride of Washington; two sons and daughter in-law, Robert 'Bob' and Irene Fox of Washington, and Ralph Lee Fox of Washington; two brothers Lester L. Smith and Kenneth R. Smith both of Washington; seven grandchildren, Debbie Hill, Gary Fox, Shari Gray all of Washington, Mike Fox of Wichita, Ka., Tammy French of Crawfordsville, Ralph Lee Fox Jr. of Crawfordsville; 5 step grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter, Ashlyn Kane of Washington...[more]

he was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her twin brother Melvin Smith and 3 other brothers, James Roy Smith, Robert Emil Smith, and John 'Jack' Smith; one sister, Marguerite Bailey; one grand son Jeff Fox; one great grandson, Tommy Lett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Tuesday with a wake service at 4 PM followed by a Rosary by the D of I 4:30 PM Memorial donations my be made to the Edker Lee Memorial Endowment for St. John Cemetery.
