Betty R. Edwards

Betty R. Edwards, age 80, of Alfordsville, passed away Friday at 12:45 p.m. at Washington Nursing Center. She was born February 27, 1930 in Washington to William and Lillian (McCoy) Nalker. She was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School and retired from Barr-Reeve High School after 25 years of service. She was a member of Waco Church of Christ and Think Young Homemakers Club. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca Jane and Ernie Fawks of Alfordsville, and Helen and Tony Massie of Washington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Mary Beth Edwards of Portersville, and Charles and Sally Edwards of Alfordsville; one sister, Joann Brannies of Arizona; one brother Brayton Nalker of Washington; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Her husband, Austin "Leland" Edwards, whom she married December 19, 1949, passed away September 6, 2009. Her parents; two sisters, Helen Nalker and Norma Yougman; three brothers Richard Nalker, Robert Nalker and Dale Nalker; and one great granddaughter Aylah Dale Gibbs-Fawks are also deceased Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Washington Church of Christ with Bro.
