Marilyn K. Cox, 66, of Washington, died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday at Daviess Community Hospital. Born May 18, 1942, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of James Carl and Hulda (Nitcher) Butcher. A 1960 graduate of Washington Catholic High School, she was a homemaker and loved quilting and spending time with her cats. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Krista and Bernie Fields and Vanessa and Britt Holcomb, all of Washington; a brother Robert Butcher of Wadesville; a sister, Charlotte Meade of Washington; three stepdaughters, Becky Abel, Gail Cox and Anna Joyce, all of Washington; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Jack Cox, whom she married June 10, 1984, died May 26, 2008. A stepson, David Cox, is also deceased. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Cemetery, with Yvonne Evans officiating. There will be no visitation.
