Alma R. Wichman

Alma R. Wichman, 83, of Washington passed away on Wednesday afternoon at her residence. She was born on October 28, 1923 in Daviess County to the late Joseph and Margaret (Clauss) Mangin. She was a 1941 graduate of Washington Catholic High School. Alma was a life time member of St Mary Catholic Church, a charter member of Daviess County Right to Life, an associate member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, were she served as a longtime volunteer, and a member of the Brute' Society of the Diocese of Evansville. Her most important achievement was being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by four sons and daughters in-law, Steve and Nancy Wichman of Bristow, Mike and Linda Wichman of Washington, Chuck and Cindy Wichman of Washington, and Mark and Debbie Wichman of Washington; one daughter and son in-law, Mary Jo and Vincent Sellers of Washington; 17 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Rita Bowling of Washington and Sister Judith (Irma) Mangin of St. Mary of the Woods. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Saturday, January 6 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday at St. Mary Church and after 10 a.m. on Saturday.
