M. Marceil Hector

Mabel "Marceil" Hector, age 94, of Washington, passed away at 3:25 am on March 17, 2009 at Washington Nursing Center. She was born on December 14, 1914 in Scotland, Illinois to Fred Blaine Nichols and Nellie Hazel (Brown) Nichols. She was a graduate Wright Junior Collage in Chicago, Illinois. She was a member of the Vesta Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star in Lombard, Illinois were she was a past Worthy Matron. She had also served as a Grand Lector for the Order of Eastern Star for the State of Illinois. She was a member of the Washington Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of Central Christian Church. She is survived by two daughters and sons in-law, Holly and James Payton of Washington, and Heather and Michael Thordsen of Lincoln, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Jeremy Payton of Washington, Jessica Downey and Jeannie Owsley both of Lagrange, Indiana, and Mark Thordsen and Nicole Thordsen both of Lincoln, Arkansas; and three great grandchildren. Graveside eservices will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at Sugarland Memory Gardens with Rev. James Payton officiating and military rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW.
