Robert Wichman

Robert (Bob) Wichman, 93, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 9:03 pm at his daughter''s home in Hob art, IN. He was born July 1, 1922 to Mary (Young) and Henry Wichman. He graduated from Plainville High School in 1940. Robert was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Daviess County Right to Life, Knights of Columbus and a charter member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society through St. Mary Catholic Church and Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. He received the Brute Award from the diocese of Evansville. Robert was a farmer his entire life until he retired in 1987, after which he devoted much of his time to organic gardening. He loved working with the ground, playing cards and visiting family. Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemary (Hart) Wichman, two daughters; Mary McCoy from Eugene, OR and Beth (Brett) Lancaster of Hobart, IN, five grandchildren; Bob, Brittany, Sasha, Sage, and Elijah, two great-grandchildren; Kenny and Lily. f Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Washington, IN with Rev. Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 23 from 4 - 8 pm at Ed Lee Mortuary. Wake service at 3:30 pm. Rosary by Knights of Columbus and Legion of Mary at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorial donations can be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society at 815 E. Main Street, Washington, IN 47501 or to the Washington Catholic Education Endowment at P.O.
