Margaret J. Thomas age 85 of Washington passed away on Friday at 8:40 AM at VNA Hospice Center in Evansville. She was born on November 20- 1920 in Washington to the late Mary (Gordon) and William Edward Newton Sr., she was a 1937 graduate of Academy of Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, she was 1939 graduate of Lockyear Business College in Evansville, she was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She joined the Civil Service working as a secretary in Oak Ridge, Tn. and after World War II she went to Korea to work for the Civil Service. After returning to the states she worked for US Rubber and NSWC Crane as a secretary where she retired in 1980. She Married Clyde Thomas Sr. on February 6-1948 and he preceded her in death on June 30-2002.
