Cathy "Cookie" Brown

Cathy “Cookie” Brown, 75, of Washington, passed away in Evansville on August 1, 2017 at 10:40 a.m. She was born in the District of Columbia on April 1, 1942 to Charles R. and Florence Myrtle (Beall) Keller. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She retired from Petersburg Health Care in 2012, where she had worked as a Dietary Supervisor. She had catered for many years, enjoyed baking wedding cakes and going to French Lick.

She is survived by her husband Dennis “Jerry” Brown, whom she married, July 14, 1962; daughter, Sharon Stinchfield of Jasper; Sons, Dennis Brown of Washington, Chris (Karen) Brown of Washington and Allen (Andrea) Brown of Washington; Seven grandchildren, Brian (Blair) Stinchfield, Abby Stinchfield, Alex Stinchfield, Jessica Brown, Molly Brown, Brooks Brown and Julian Brown; Eleven great-grandchildren.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, August 5, at noon at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Paul Ferguson as celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM – 11:45 AM on Saturday at Ed Lee Mortuary, with a rosary by the Daughters of Isabella at 11:30 AM.
