Catherine Mary Kavanaugh

Catherine Mary Kavanaugh age 94 of Cannelburg passed away at 7:30 AM on Tuesday at Washington Nursing Center. She was born on June 2, 1913 Corning in Daviess County to John and Bridget (Walsh) McCauley. She was educated in the Corning School. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Alter Society, Daviess County Right to Life, auxiliary member St. Peter - All Saints St. Vincent DePaul Society and the National Conference of Catholic Women. Recipient of the Simon Brute Society Award of the Diocese of Evansville. She was an avid Barr-Reeve Viking and Indiana Pacer fan. Surviving are two daughters and sons in-law, Mary Kay and Dave Andres of Indianapolis and Charlotte Ann and Jerry Lewinski of St. Louis, Mo.; eight sons and daughters in-law, John and Donna Kavanaugh of Lee's Summit Mo., Lee and Irma Kavanaugh, Albert Kavanaugh, Louis Jr. and Liz Kavanaugh , and David and Cleta Kavanaugh all of Montgomery, and Tim and Sue Kavanaugh, Steve Kavanaugh, and Mark and Clara Kavanaugh all of Indianapolis; 27 grandchildren; and 43 great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Kavanaugh Sr. on March 5, 1990, whom she had married on July 4, 1936; ...[more]

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:30 AM at St Peter Catholic Church with Father James Koressel as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 to 8 PM at All Saints Catholic Church in Cannelburg with a Rosary at 3:00 PM and on Saturday from 9 to 10 AM at All Saints.
