Orville E. 'Nookie' Carter, age 64, of Washington, passed away Saturday afternoon at his residence. He was born August 5, 1948 in Henderson Kentucky to Orville and Clodean (Billings) Carter. He had worked for United Minerals at their Summerville Mine. He enjoyed Fishing and Hunting and was a member of the Petersburg Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Reed) Carter whom he married on September 18, 1975; one daughter, Dusty Carter of Washington; two sons, Gary Carter of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania and Jason Hardy of Washington; one brother, Kim Carter of Tipton; and six grandchildren, Jaisa Hardy, Darrian Johnson, DeAntae Carter-Jones, Julianna Piggott, Alissa Carter and Jaxon Reed Hardy all of Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents; step father, J.C. Carter; and one son, Brad Carter. He will be cremated and services will be held at a later date.
