Edward Ernest Hopkins, age 75, of Washington, passed away at 2:38 AM at Daviess Community Hospital.
He was born on November 10, 1943 in Lancing, Michigan to Ernest William and Leona Mariam (Reckert) Hopkins. He attended Lancing Community College and was a US Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran. He was an avid Michigan State fan. He volunteered taking three missionary trips to Mexico and loved to play golf and fishing. He was retired from NSWC Crane and was a member of Washington Free Methodist Church and Washington Democrat Party .
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue (Wilson) Hopkins whom he married on July 24, 1964; three daughters, Dawn Hopkins of Washington, Kathy (Rick) Orr of Montana, and Beth (Richard) Sherrer of New Jersey; eleven grandchildren, Sean Christian Hudson, Kailyn Hudson, Conner Hopkins, Austin Hopkins, Maia Hopkins, Zachary Orr, Carolyn E. Hopkins, Gabriella Orr, Brandon Orr, Joseph Orr, and Jordan Orr; and three great grandchildren.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patty Langston, brother, David, Hopkins, sisters, Mercedes Ison and Beatrice White.
