Kenneth F. Tennis, age 80, of Washington, passed away at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at his residence. He was born on March 1, 1933 in Gibson County to Francis P. and Mary I. (Healy) Tennis. He was a 1951 graduate of Washington Catholic High School and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and Washington American Legion. He enjoyed a life time farming, fishing and hunting and loved raising and working with horses. In his last years he found joy in reading, gardening and visiting with his Amish friends. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Mattingly) Tennis whom he married on June 3, 1961; three daughters, Nancy (Kurt) Kahl of Marshall, Illinois, Denice Waynescott of Washington, and Paula Love of Terre Haute; one son, Brian K. Jessica Kahl, Nicholas Kahl, Courtney Love, Mickenzie Love, and Conner Love; one great grandson, Dominick King; one sister, Eleanor (Tim) Mattingly of Montgomery; one brother Richard (Mary Jane) Tennis of Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with a wake service at 3:30 PM. Visitation will also be on Friday from 9 to 9:45 at the church.
