George Washington Fox, age 73, of Washington passed away at 5:30PM on Saturday at Southwood Pulmonary Rehab Center in Terre Haute. He was born on February 22, 1938 in Vincennes to Sherman and Zettie (Hicks) Fox . He Was a U.S. Army Veteran, where he served 10 years. Upon his retirement he was a USDA food inspector for Perdue Processing Plant. He coached Little League Baseball for 10 years and enjoyed it tremendously. He made a rule in Washington that every player bats once and is in for three outs, which later became a rule for Little League. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marie P. (Boizard) Fox; three daughters, Janet (Terry) Thomas, Zettie Fox, Adeline (DJ) Stoll; Son Allen Fox; eight grandchildren, Kevin O'Connor, Jennifer (Alan) Skomp, Ashlee (Matt) Bowlds, Todd Clark, Brandee Brown, Chelsee Brown, Marie-Gabrelle Craft, and Daizee Timberlake; four great grandchildren; and one sister, Ada (Finis) Stanley of Sullivan. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Joseph "Bear" Fox. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 Pm on Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Man...[more]
