Paul Joseph Pete' Mandabach, age 76, of Washington, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday at his residence. He was born May 24, 1934 in Washington to Henry J. and Catherine (Brewer) Mandabach. He was a 1954 graduate of Washington Catholic High School and a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Washington Moose Lodge, Washington Conservation Club, Montgomery Ruritan Club, Daviess County Historical Society, and Huron Baptist Church. He was a Commissioner for the Washington Housing Authority and served on the Economical Development Commission for Daviess County. He owned and operated of Pete's Trading Post for 26 years, worked for the B &O Railroad as an electrician, and retired from North Slope Barrow Housing Department as a locksmith and safe man in Barrow, Alaska. He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Sebring) Mandabach, whom he married July 9, 1960; a daughter and son-in-law, Catherine Cathy' and James Kirkpatrick of Painesville, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse JD' and Denise Mandabach of Vincennes, and Terry Lee and Kate Mandabach of Fairbanks, Alaska; one brother John David Mandabach of New York state; three grandchildren; four step grandchild...[more]

; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Henrietta Mandabach. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:45 AM on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or your favorite charity. Ed Lee Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
