Clyde "Dickie" Burris, age 84 of Washington, passed away at 10:48 AM on Saturday at Daviess Community Hospital. He was born on April 9, 1929 in Washington to Lowell and Elma (Hitch) Burris. He attended Washington High School and was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Washington VFW. He loved fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Colleen (Jerger) Burris whom he married on June 29, 1960; three daughters, Karen (Morris) Petty, of Washington, Jane (Jim) Arthur of Seymour, and Barbara Petty of Washington; two brothers, Bob Burris and Jim Burris of Washington; 6 grandchildren, Troy Arthur, Tammy (Phil) Norton, Judy (David) Bledsoe, Julie (Troy) Stuart, Laurie (JR) Crew, Lana (Pat) Beck; and 14 Great grandchildren. three sisters, Lucille Grannan, Barbara (Emmons) Cassidy, and Margie Brothers; and one brother, Charles Burris. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Yvonne Evans officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM till the hour of services on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial donations may be given to St. Vincent DePaul Society 815 East Main street Washington, Indiana 47501.
