William 'Bill' McDonald age 85 of Washington passed away at 6:23 PM on Sunday a Washington Nursing Center. He was born on September 6, 1922 in Montgomery to Henry and Mamie Myrtle (Johnson) McDonald. He attended Montgomery Schools and was a US Army Veteran of World War II where he served with the 395 Infantry Unit. He worked for 30 years for McCord Corporation and retired from Essex Wire in Vincennes after 15 years of service. He was a member of the Central Christian Church for 56 years and Washington American Legion. Surviving are one daughter and son in-law, Carolyn and Jim Mangin of Washington; two granddaughters and their husbands, Brenda and Chris Hurt of Washington, and Cheryl and Troy Pride of Washington; four great grandchildren, Katelyn Hurt, Andrea Hurt, Tori Pride, and Will Pride all of Washington; one sister Dorothy Flynn of Loogootee. Weber; and one half brother, Lennie McDonald. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary with Rev. James Payton officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery with military graveside rites by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM at Ed Lee Mortuary.
