at Old Cathedral in Vincennes in 1948. They lived in Washington and had four children. They were active members of St. Simon's Catholic Parish and she was an active and vocal supporter of the Washington Catholic Schools until her death. A voracious reader, she was a member of the Psi Iota Xi, the Daughters of Isabella, the Legion of Mary and the Monday Club. She returned to work, working in her husband's office at the First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Washington from 1970 until 1980 and the illness that preceded his death in 1982. In her later years, she was a regular volunteer at RSVP. Billie continued to live in the home they built in Washington until her declining health forced her move to assisted living in South Bend, near her son, in 2011. Billie had an active and inquisitive mind, and read extensively, also enjoying current affairs and lively political debates. She was devoted to family and never turned down the opportunity to spend time with family (in person or on the phone) even learning to use the internet and skype when she was in her 80's. She also enjoyed trips to Florida until her health prevented travel and never turned down an invitation there if she could help it. Not only did she have an abiding love for the beach, she also enjoyed traveling in the US and Europe. Most notable about Billie was the importance she placed on her faith, her family and friendships, nurturing and treasuring each with fierce loyalty and devotion. She was intensely proud of her family's history and of the achievements of her children and grandchildren. Billie was a devoted wife, strong mother, a loving grandmother, and doting great-grandmother who loved her family, and enjoyed a long full life filled with love, faith, children, and grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many, many close friends. She was a deeply loyal person by nature, and her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her. Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Sinnott on Dec.12, 1982, and also by her parents, her sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Mize, Mary Ellen Polston, Jacqueline (Jackie) Fairhurst and her brother Louis E. Linn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Thursday July 26, 2012 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Leo Kiesel as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John's cemetery.
