Doris Hudson, age 81, of Washington, passed away at 9:20 PM on Tuesday at her home. She was born on November 2, 1932 in Washington to Enoch and Olive (Davisson) Hardisty. She attended local schools, Washington High School and St. Teresa''s Academy in East St. Louis, IL. Doris was employed at Baldwin Regalia in St. Louis, MO and Daviess Community Hospital off and on from 1952 - 1982. She was a member of Ebenezer General Baptist Church and served as church pianist for many years. She also served as Deaconess from 1976 until her passing. Doris'' family and her church were her main interests in this life. She loved sewing, quilting, and crocheting. Family gatherings and cooking were also close to her heart. She is survived by her husband Arthur Art'' Hudson whom she married on April 27, 1952; one son, Arthur Kenneth Hudson of Washington; twin sisters Janet and Janice Hardisty both of Washington, grandchildren, Candice (Brian) Reesen of Lewisville, TX and Melanie (Jeff) Hadges of Greenbriar, TN; three great grandchildren Austin Reeser, Kylie and Zackary Hodges; niece Connie (Byron) Burkhart of Washington; sister-in-law Beatrice Hudson and Niece Donna (Ronald) Crabtree, b...[more]

of North Carolina. Also survives a sister in law, Hazel Hardity, nieces Tammy Cristellom Diana (Tommy) Tacker; nephews William, David, Andrew, and Timothy Hardisty all of Jacksonville, FL. Proceeding Doris in death was her parents, and one daughter, Doris "Sherry" Massey; infant sister, Anita Jane Hardisty; brother William K. Hardisty; niece Angela Hardisty and a nephew Gary Hudson. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary with Brother James Downs officiating. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 pm Thursday and Friday from 9 - 11:00 am at Ed Lee Mortuary. Memorial donations may be given to the American Kidney Foundation.
