Catherine Jeanne Mattingly

Catherine "Jeanne" Mattingly, age 88, of Washington, passed away March 6, 2016 at Bethel Manor in Evansville. She was born February 12, 1928 in Loogootee to Flora (Greenwell) and Thomas Ervin Mattingly. She was a St. John High School of Loogootee graduate and a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. She was a longtime member of the Daughters of Isabella, serving as an officer for many years. She enjoyed dining, shopping and traveling with her sister, Alice, as well as card games, baking and gardening. She is survived by son, Jim (Judy Shure) Mattingly of Dallas, TX; daughter, Patty Meagher (Gene) Gauger, of Evansville; five grandchildren: Ian (Nicole) Mattingly of Plano, TX; Clea Mattingly, of Dallas, TX; Emily Meagher, of Ashland, OR; Anna Meagher, of Indianapolis, and Heather Meagher, of Evansville, four great-grandchildren: Lliam, Ava, Toby, and Colton, a sister, Alice Walker of Loogootee; and two brothers, Ron Mattingly of Huntingburg and Don Mattingly of Loogootee. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, March 15 at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Father Paul Ferguson as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
