Vincent Walter Doyle

Vincent Walter Doyle, age 84 of Washington, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1930 in Washington, Indiana to Thomas Earl and Rose (Nalin) Doyle. He married Anna Mae Disser October 18, 1958, she died August 27, 1969. Survived by his best friend and son, Stephen Michael Doyle and daughter- in- law, Sandra Doyle of Danville, California, granddaughter, Jacqueline Doyle, Danville, California, and grandsons, Connor Doyle of Danville, California and Zachery Doyle. Indianapolis, sister; Jean Ann (Richard) Sorensen of Olney, IL, brothers; Lewis E. (Sue Ann) Doyle and Thomas E (Dorothy) Doyle both of Washington, Indiana. He was preceded by his parents, wife, Anna Mae, sister, Mariam Rose (David) Knese and brother, Charles Edward (Mary Ann) Doyle. Vincent served in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1951-55, served Army 1959-62 and also the National Guard before and between active duty. He was a skilled finish carpenter and starting working in the family construction business before moving on to working in Indianapolis, Florida, and area power plants. The last he named Miss Audra after his grand-niece, because she never stopped running, which was more than could be said for most of his boats. Vince loved life, may have lived alone and independent, but he was never alone for he hardly ever meet a stranger. He was always living for today with his quick wit and sense of humor for all moments. He loved spending time with his brothers and sister, having a simple coffee break, down at the local Wendy''s during the past couple of years. He became his grandchildren's'' number one sports fan for Jacqueline with swimming and Connor with baseball. He truly became the Northwestern University Woman's Swim team number 1 Fan, driving to all their meets, tracking Jacqueline's times, and of course coaching. He loved his blue little Prius car and was always tinkering with it to get to 90 miles to the gallon. He was computer savvy beyond most teenagers, and loved his Thanksgivings in California with his son''s family. He always looked forward to the plane flight and tracked his progress on his own map. He will be missed, leaving a true legacy of love and humor. However; there is joy in knowing that the stories and adventures will always live on. A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Thursday at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, with Rev Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial to follow in St John Cemetery, Montgomery with full military rites provided by the Washington American Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
