Phyllis A. Purdue, age 72, of Washington, passed away at 9:55 PM on Wednesday at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born on January 16, 1941 in Washington to Robert B. and Elizabeth (Mattingly) Goble. Phyllis was a 1959 graduate of Washington Catholic High School, and was employed at Williams Drugs Store before she became disabled. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church. Her favorite thing to do was mushroom hunting, playing bingo, and cards. She also loved to attend Hatchets basketball games and Senior and Family Services activities. She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Lynn Case of Washington; three sons, David Wayne Goble, of Washington; Fredrick William Lucas of Princeton; and Robert Dean Lucas Jr. of Washington; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (David) Walls and Mary Ellen (Joe) Bateman all of Washington; two brothers, Robert B. Goble, Jr. of Greencastle and Mike (Julie) Goble of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant triplet brother and sisters, Dale Anthony Goble, Arlene Goble, and Darlene Goble; and one other sister Janice Miller.
