Agnes Cameron "Ruby" Frye passed away peacefully August 11, 2015 surrounded by family in Washington state. Ruby was born in Barrhead, Scotland November 28, 1923 to parents Jean and Mac McCaig. Her most happy childhood memory was spending summers at the seaside in Scotland and going to church there with her Grandparents. She was matriculated at Withington Girls School in Manchester, England then passionately volunteered for the Royal Army Pay Corps in support of Britain during WW2. Mother met the love of her life Richard Frye during WW2 at a wartime dance in Manchester, England. Dad was was a farm boy from Indiana serving his country in the US 8th Air Corps. They were married at the end of the war in England then settled back home in southern Indiana where they were blessed with 3 children. Mother was known for walking the 4 mile "Horn" all 4 seasons with her beloved husband. She also loved swimming, golf and tennis. She was an enthusiastic member of Westminster and Emmanuel Presbyterian Churches. liked books about Winston Churchill. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Richard. She is survived by her daughter Linda Avery (Tom), sons Richard Frye and Bailey Frye (Candy) and grandchildren Sarah Avery, Laura Stow (Chris), John Avery, Scott Frye (Annemarie), Emily Pendleton (Nate), and Daniel Frye and a nephew, John Reiff. She also has 3 great grandchildren Noah Frye, Eden Frye, and Bailey Pendleton. Ruby is also survived by her sister, Morag Merica, sister-in-law, Louise Reiff, nephews; Larry Frye and Theo Merica, nieces; Elizabeth Merica and Marilyn Lesher. Mother was a true blue American and British patriot and a spirit filled Christian. We will truly miss her. Donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Washington, IN or the Northshore Senior Center in Bothell, WA. There will be a viewing from 1:00 to 3:00 on Sunday, August 16th at the Ed Lee Mortuary followed by a graveside service at Sugarland Memory Gardens at 3:30 p.m.
